Our History
The “new Assumption-Msgr. James J. Dorney” Council was formed in February, 2021 at
Blessed Sacrament Church in West Brighton, Staten Island. Prior to that, meetings were
held between Msgr. Berardi, pastor, and a representation from the Knights of
Columbus. The representative also met with the Parish Council. All thought that a

The “new Assumption-Msgr. James J. Dorney” Council was formed in February, 2021 at

held between Msgr. Berardi, pastor, and a representation from the Knights of
Columbus. The representative also met with the Parish Council. All thought that a
Knights of Columbus presence was a good idea. Since then, 27 parishioners have
joined by e-Council either as a transfer from another council or as a new member to
the Knights of Columbus.
